  • SuRun started showing tooltips for sandboxed apps

I use SuRun for starting windows services from a script, only.

I haven't run my script for long time (several weeks), but today I did. It executed correctly, but since then, SuRun displays the following tooltips:

The text in the tooltip is the title of the application that received focus. SuRun displays this tooltip each time a (sandboxed) application receives focus, i.e. about once a minute in average. SuRun didn't do that before, and I haven't found anything in the SuRun settings that would turn this type of tooltips off.

I haven't updated SuRun for a long time, neither my sandbox engine (Sandboxie). I am not aware of any other configuration changes that could cause this change in SuRun behaviour.

SuRun 1.2.1.2, Windows 7 Pro x64. I use sandboxed Firefox, and from there sometimes explorer or notepad. Each time I switch to any of these apps, the SuRun tooltip is shown.

Edit: The problem might be related also with the last Windows update, KB4493472, more weird things started to happen after this update. Anyone experiences this behaviour?
SuRun just shows that the sandbox is running with different credentials than the logged on user.
You can switch that off in SuRuns Settings.
I can switch it off by unchecking "Display user status as Boloon tips". Is this what you meant?
But I wonder why SuRun started showing tool tips all of sudden, it didn't do that before. And I haven't played with its settings.
I meant following setting:

Your sandbox runs programs with credentials of a different user "ANONYMOUS LOGON".
That's why SuRun shows the Balloon Tip.
I already have this setting unchecked, but SuRun displays the tooltips anyway.

I have tried to check it and uncheck it again, but without success.

Here are my other setting screens:

I've just set up a Win7 x64 VM with sandboxie.
You're right. The user's "balloon tips" option unchecked disables the (square-) balloon tips.
I don't know, why you didn't see balloon tips before.
Maybe sandboxie did not impersonate sandboxed processes in earlier versions?

I didn't upgrade Sandboxie nor SuRun, so the change in SuRun behaviour was not related to any change in Sandboxie. As I have already written, I suspected the KB4493472 update, but when I uninstalled this update, the problem didn't fix.
