First thank you for Surun, very nice, I love it
I'm unable to install Windows Updates in my Suruner LUA, I see the notification
I'm able to select the updates I want, they download then dissapear, no promt to install them
So I looked in "Event Viewer" to find the source of the problem.
Only using the Suruner LUA.
Not loging in as Administrator
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Computer Management-> System Tools -> Event Viewer -> Application
Source: Windows Update Agent
Category: Installation
Event ID: 17
Installation Ready: The following updates are downloaded and ready for installation.
To install the updates, an administrator should log on to this computer and Windows
will prompt with further instructions:
- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - January 2009 (KB890830)

I never had serious problems with SuRun and automatic updates yet. But I'm using a German XPpro here and I nerver install that MS tool.
I just tried to install that tool here on an English XPpro SP3 through automatic updates in a VM and it worked. (SuRun 1.2.0.6 beta 13 installed, but I'm sure this is nothing about SuRun)
Maybe logging on as real Admin just for installing the update would work on your system?

I made a mistake in my post.
I'm not using "Automatic(recomended)" updates.
I'm using "Notify me but dont automatically download or install them" option, thats why i get the error.
I choose my updates in the suruner LUA acoount, and they finish downloading, but it never offered to install them.
By logging into the real "Administrator" account I can see the choosen downloaded updates, and i'm able to install them.
I want to be able to perform the whole update process, without ever loggin in to the Real Administrator account.
Only using the Suruner LUA. and elevating priviledges, as required.

I just tried that in a German Windows XP pro SP3 and see the same here as you do. :'(
...currently I don't know how to change that. It seems that Windows Update itself checks if the currently logged on user has admin rights. The Windows Update process "wuauclt.exe" is running with "SYSTEM" privileges and could install all updates, but it does not. SuRun can't help. Sorry.
One thing I notices is that when I want to turn off the system, Windows asks me to install the pending updates and turn off after that. Hope this at least helps a bit.

Thanks Kay, for your prompt reply.
Would it work if I add
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wuauclt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wuauclt1.exe
to Surunners Group -> Program List with this options ?
Don't ask and always start the program with elevated rights
Start the program automagically with elevated rights
I will see if this works when I get new updates, I have none available at the moment.

That won't work.
SuRun does never set a hook into system processes.
So it cannot control execution of wuauclt.exe.
The only chance to intercept wuauclt is to set SuRun as debugger for that app and to fake that the logged on user has elevated privileges... But I don't think that would be good practice...
