When opening the SuRun Settings, the normal darkening of the background screen takes place, but it flashes every 5 seconds or so. When it flashes, the SuRun Settings dialog box disappears for an instant then comes right back. It makes it hard to type the password in. :)

This has been discussed in the German forum already.
There are at least three (known) apps causing desktop flickering:
* Acronis True image
* Miranda IM (up to 0.7)
* WiBu Codemeter Control Center
In an old documentation Microsoft wrote that a program can detect if the logon desktop is active by trying to switch to the default user desktop. If that fails, logon is active. This is ridiculous but true. No virtual desktop software could ever work with other apps using that.
Unfortunately SuRun is not the windows kernel an thus cannot prevent switching to the users desktop.
SuRun uses a watchdog process to detect a desktop switch (and to test if SuRun is blocked by a HIPS).
The watchdog process switches back to SuRuns desktop.
But that causes flicker!
Please test which of you Processes is doing the desktop switching and tell us here.

Thank you, I will perform a test. By the way, I do have Acronis True Image Echo 9.5 installed.

I found it! In msconfig, I disabled "schedhlp" "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedhlp.exe" I rebooted and that stopped the flashing. Thank you.
