Hi Kay!

For spanish translation you can count on me.
I mean, not pure spanish, but latinamerican language (Argentina).
A lot of thanks for your application.

If you provide the tools other languages could be added too.

Thanks for the offer! :-)

You can use the sources of the latest SuRun or Beta and ResEdit to add Spanish resources. I'll then put them back into the main sources.

I may be willing to translate it to Portuguese (Standard - Portugal). It will take time, because the better it is translated, and well written, the better people will understand what they're reading! ;)

When it is finished, what one must do? Upload it here, or is there some e-mail address where we can send finished translations?

Thank you

Welcome and thanks, :-)

The easiest way is to send me an eMail with the changed resources.
If you are able to compile SuRun, you could check it before sending the resources back to me, else I'll compile the new sources and you can check the result.

BTW: I put SuRun onto Sourceforge some days ago but did not have the time yet to set it all up. For now, all SuRun historical sources are put to svn and all SuRun releases are downloadable, no more, no less.

Kay, I'm a little confused...
Actually, I'm translating "SuRun.rc" file (English section to Spanish)
Is there any other file I have to look for?
Thanks!

SuRun.rc is the only one file to be translated. (Beside the documentation, that is German and Dutch only at the moment).

Kay:
I'm sending you the translated section of "SuRun.rc" for Spanish (ES-AR) language.
I took the English section and worked with it.
Please, let me know for possible errors.
I double checked, but...  :-p

It is a pleasure for me helping you in such a nice application.
Keep going!

Thanks a lot for the quick translation!!! :-D

I compiled your resources in the attached version of SuRuns current Beta.

There are some complaints that my Compiler throws when loading your resource:
  • "SUBLANG_SPANISH_AR" has to be "SUBLANG_SPANISH_ARGENTINA" (?)
  • The two instances of the string "Especificar 'Administradores' en vez de 'Object creator' como propietario por defecto para objetos credos por administradores.\nCUIDADO: Si esta opcion no esta activa, usuarios limitados pueden modificar archivos y claves de registro creadas por administradores de SuRun.", is longer than 256 characters, this will not be compiled into the final exe file due to a limitation for dialog box resources in Windows. I limited the string to "Especificar 'Administradores' en vez de 'Object creator' como propietario por defecto para objetos credos por administradores." in the attached EXE.

After a quick check of the rest:
  • The new Dialog IDD_FUSDLG is not present in spanish yet.
  • These dialogs do not seem to "look well": IDD_APPOPTIONS, IDD_CURUSRACK, IDD_CURUSRLOGON, IDD_SETUP1, IDD_SETUP2, IDD_SETUP3, IDD_SETUP4. The strings do not fit into the dialogs.
Please check if everything looks as you planned it.

I strongly recommend to check and edit the dialogs with ResEdit.
So you can see if all are aligned properly.

I'll be on vacation for the next two weeks, so my answers could take some time ;-)

@Mik.c.OS: The language number for SPANISH_ARGENTIA in the registry is 4.

Hi Kay!

How was your vacation?

I tried to make the translation as much original as the english section. I mean literally.
With your permission I could change the translation with my own words. Of course, respecting the main idea.

Sadly, spanish language is "larger" than english.

Oh, btw, there is no "argentinian" language. Is just latin-spanish.
I don't know what code is it.

Thanks!
